General information

Journal articles are general information about buying, printing and hanging art. They are not professional conservation, structural or legal advice. For valuable or antique works, consult a qualified conservator.

Product descriptions

We describe paper, ink and edition details honestly. Screens vary, and a print on cotton rag will look warmer than it does on a phone.

Advertising disclosure

This site displays third-party advertising, including through Google AdSense, which helps cover printing, hosting and the time it takes to write the guides. Advertisers do not review or approve editorial content, and placements are not endorsements.

Affiliate disclosure

Some links to framers or tools we do not sell are affiliate links. If you buy through one we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. A commission never changes a recommendation.

Public-domain works

Archive editions reproduce works whose copyright has expired. We do not claim authorship of those works; the printing and colour work are ours. See image credits.

Reviews

Customer quotes are used with permission and not edited in meaning. We do not write or buy reviews.
